Manufacturing Process At Kingpak, we manufacture Low Density and Linear Low Density (Blended) Polythene Bags. All of our polythene bags are suitable for use with food unless specifically ordered otherwise. (For example, black refuse sacks for waste use are not made from food grade material *).
We extrude polythene film on our own production lines. The pictures above show stocks of a raw material (left) and the extrusion process (right), where we manufacture the raw material into polythene tubing. As we are able to extrude layflat tubing (normal flat tube), layflat gusset (flat tube with sides pleated in) and centre fold sheeting (flat tube slit down one side to open out fully) we are able to make a wide variety of different types of polythene bags. Rolls of film we have extruded are shown (below left), which are waiting to be put onto one of the conversion lines to be made into bags (below right). We have a number of extruders and converters, which enable us to make different sizes and types of products.
All of our bag making machines can put punched holes into the bags at set repeat. (Same place in every bag). Our sideweld machines can cut out a lip at the top of the bag. We can print in registered repeat one side one colour on side weld bags. Designs range from printed safety warnings and re-cycle logos to simple company logos and details, product descriptions, etc. within the available print area. We can also offer Block headed bags in various sizes and thickness (to order). These are ideal for grocery applications and 'serve yourself' shops. The block has three holes so the bags will hang on ANY of the hooks available and the tear off is set so it is very easy. As well as making orders to customer specification, we hold some popular sizes of standard, plain bags in stock. We can also provide (although we do not manufacture them in house), LD carrier bags either plain or printed to your own specification. If you do not have artwork and printing blocks, these can be designed with you.
Example of manufactured, finished packs of polythene bags. Example of the 'poly dispenser' system for easy access t the bags.
*We would like to point out, that as part of our Enviroment Policy, (covering reclamation of non conforming polythene), all of our 'non food grade' polythene bags are made from our own recycled polythene. For every tonne of recycled polythene film, there is a saving of 1.8 tonnes of crude oil.
